Terms And Condition
Deposit & Cancellation
Deposits are non refundable once materials are purchased or work has begun. Work is considered to have begun when materials are ordered, allocated, milled, cut, or otherwise prepared specifically for the client’s project. This includes, but is not limited to, ordering lumber or materials, milling, fabrication, or any production-related preparation. If an order is canceled before materials are purchased or work has begun, a refund or credit may be issued at Big B’s Fine Furniture’s discretion.
Design or Scope Changes
Any design, dimension, or material changes requested after production begins or after materials have been ordered, purchased, or allocated may impact the price and timeline. Customer-approved changes do not relieve the client of responsibility for materials already ordered, purchased, allocated, or otherwise committed to the original scope. Big B’s Fine Furniture will provide a written quote for approval before any revised work continues, and no revised work will proceed until written approval is received.
Project Timeline & Communication
Big B’s Fine Furniture may provide updates throughout the build process as deemed necessary, including progress photos and any schedule adjustments. Please note that all timelines are estimates and may be affected by factors such as material availability, payment processing, shipping delays, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Delays
Build and delivery dates are estimates. Big B’s Fine Furniture is not liable for delays caused by, including but not limited to, material shortages, equipment issues, shipping delays, weather, or other factors beyond its control.
Natural Wood Characteristics
Many pieces are crafted using solid wood, including dimensional lumber constructions, solid wood slabs, and epoxy tables. Because wood is a natural, organic material, variations in color, grain, and texture are expected and contribute to the uniqueness of your furniture. Seasonal shifts in humidity may cause slight expansion, contraction, or minor surface movement. Minor wood movement, surface checking, or variation within industry-accepted tolerances for solid wood furniture is considered normal and not a defect. These natural variations are not considered defects.
Samples, Finish, and Appearance Variation
Any samples, photos, drawings, mockups, finish samples, wood samples, or epoxy samples provided by Big B’s Fine Furniture are intended as general representations only. Because each piece is handcrafted and may include natural wood, hand-applied finishes, epoxy, and other custom elements, the final product may vary slightly in color, grain, figure, sheen, texture, or overall appearance from any sample or reference shown. Such variation is inherent in custom furniture and is not considered a defect.
Epoxy Tables & Cast Elements
For tables that incorporate epoxy resin such as river tables or cast features additional care is recommended. Avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight, as epoxy may react to natural UV rays and experience discoloration or visual changes over time. While epoxy is durable, it is not impervious to scratching or heat, and should be treated with the same care as a finished wood surface. Minor settling, shrinkage, or slight surface variation may occur in epoxy-filled areas as part of the curing process and is not considered a defect in craftsmanship.
Hardware
Hardware used in a piece, including drawer slides, hinges, lift systems, and other similar components, may be manufactured by third parties and is subject to normal wear, manufacturer tolerances, and manufacturer warranty terms. Big B’s Fine Furniture is not responsible for failure of third-party hardware caused by normal wear, misuse, overloading, improper adjustment, or manufacturer defect. This does not limit Big B’s Fine Furniture’s responsibility for improper installation performed directly by Big B’s Fine Furniture.
Delivery, Installation & Risk of Loss
When delivery and installation are performed directly by Big B’s Fine Furniture, Big B’s Fine Furniture is responsible for the furniture during transportation and installation. Clients are required to inspect the furniture upon delivery or installation. Any damage believed to have occurred during transportation or installation must be reported to Big B’s Fine Furniture within twenty four (24) hours of delivery. Failure to report damage within this timeframe will be considered acceptance of the piece in good condition. Once the furniture has been delivered and placed inside the client’s home or designated space, responsibility for the piece transfers to the client.
If delivery or installation is handled by a third party carrier or installer, the client, or the client’s other representative, responsibility for the piece transfers to the client once the furniture leaves Big B’s Fine Furniture’s possession is not responsible for damage, delays, loss, or improper installation caused by third party carriers or installers, the client, or the client’s other representative. Any claims related to third-party shipping, handling, or installation must be filed directly with the carrier or installer. When crating or packaging is provided by Big B’s Fine Furniture, it will be prepared to provide reasonable protection during transit. Any responsibility for damage resulting directly from improper crating or packaging provided by Big B’s Fine Furniture will be limited to repair, replacement, or another reasonable remedy, as determined by Big B’s Fine Furniture. This responsibility does not extend to damage caused by third-party handling, transport conditions, or improper installation by others.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the furniture will fit through doorways, hallways, stairways, elevators, and into the intended space, unless Big B’s Fine Furniture has specifically agreed in writing to verify site access or measurements. Delivery and installation areas must be clear and accessible at the scheduled time. If delivery, installation, or placement cannot be completed due to access limitations, site conditions, or client unavailability, additional delivery, return trip, labor, or storage fees may apply.
Once a piece is completed, Big B’s Fine Furniture can store the finished furniture at no charge for up to fifteen (15) days to allow time for delivery or pickup arrangements. Storage beyond this period may be subject to a daily storage fee. Any applicable storage fees must be paid prior to release of the furniture.
Hidden Utilities & Concealed Conditions
Big B’s Fine Furniture is not responsible for damage resulting from concealed or undisclosed conditions at the installation site, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, gas lines, low-voltage wiring, framing irregularities, blocking issues, or other hidden utilities or structural conditions not reasonably visible or discoverable at the time of delivery or installation. The client is responsible for disclosing any known hidden conditions or utilities before installation begins. If damage occurs as a result of concealed or undisclosed conditions, Big B’s Fine Furniture shall not be liable for resulting repairs, delays, or additional costs.
Unclaimed Orders, Storage, and Disposition
Once a piece is completed, Big B’s Fine Furniture may store the finished furniture at no charge for up to fifteen (15) days to allow time for delivery or pickup arrangements. Storage beyond this period may be subject to a daily storage fee, and any applicable storage fees must be paid prior to release of the furniture. If the client fails to complete final payment, schedule delivery or pickup, take possession of the furniture, or respond after notice that the piece is complete, Big B’s Fine Furniture may make additional reasonable attempts to contact the client using the contact information provided. If the furniture remains unpaid for, unclaimed, or undeliverable for thirty (30) days after notice that the piece is complete, the piece may be deemed abandoned. Upon abandonment, Big B’s Fine Furniture may, in its discretion and in a commercially reasonable manner, continue charging storage, cancel any obligation to continue holding the piece, and resell, repurpose, dismantle, reuse materials from, or otherwise dispose of the furniture. Any amounts previously paid may be retained and applied toward storage fees, labor, materials, administrative costs, resale costs, and any other amounts due, and the client remains responsible for any unpaid balance remaining after such application.
Warranty & Care
The customer’s piece is covered by a two year limited warranty, beginning once the final payment is received, against defects in craftsmanship. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, natural wood movement, finish fading, or damage resulting from misuse or neglect. It also does not cover damage caused by extreme environmental conditions, including excessive humidity, exposure to direct heat sources, or any outdoor exposure. Defects in craftsmanship do not include surface texture variations, minor finish inconsistencies, tool marks inherent to hand built furniture, or aesthetic characteristics disclosed or reasonably expected in handmade work. To maintain the quality of your furniture, always use coasters, wipe spills promptly, and avoid allowing moisture to sit on the surface. Clean only with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable. If a valid warranty claim is made, Big B’s Fine Furniture will, at its discretion, inspect the piece and determine the appropriate remedy. Any covered remedy under this warranty shall be limited to repair, refinishing, replacement of the defective component or affected area, or another reasonable corrective measure. Replacement of the entire piece will not be provided unless Big B’s Fine Furniture determines that repair or a more limited corrective measure is not commercially reasonable. The client must provide Big B’s Fine Furniture a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address any claimed defect before any third-party repair, alteration, or modification is performed. Unauthorized third-party repairs, alterations, refinishing, or modifications may void warranty coverage for the affected area or for any defect caused by or related to such work, unless approved in writing by Big B’s Fine Furniture.
