Meet the Maker
Hey, I’m Brandon, the owner and builder behind Big B’s Fine Furniture. I run a one-man custom furniture shop here in Michigan, building handmade hardwood pieces for homes and businesses across the country.
WHERE IT STARTED
How It Began
Big B’s Fine Furniture started pretty simply. I was always good with my hands, and after watching a lot of woodworking, I decided to give it a shot myself.
I started in my parents’ garage with a few basic tools and eventually built my first hardwood dining table. Once I saw what I could make, I kept going, learning through classes, trial and error, and a lot of time in the shop.
Over time, I upgraded tool by tool, eventually outgrew the garage, and moved into my own shop with professional equipment and a showroom. What started as me wanting to see what I could build slowly turned into the business I had pictured from the beginning.
MADE IN THE SHOP
What Comes Out of the Shop
Most of what comes out of the shop is built from solid hardwood, including dining tables, coffee tables, end tables, desks, and other custom furniture. We have also started introducing more epoxy resin pieces and accessories, combining different materials, styles, and designs.
Big B’s is not a mass production shop. Most pieces are built one at a time, with the goal of making something that fits the space, the style, and the person ordering it.
For anyone looking for something smaller, the shop also offers cutting boards, charcuterie boards, floating shelves, and other accessories. Something simple, useful, and made to be enjoyed at home with your family.
THE PROCESS
From Idea to Finished Piece
• Reach Out
Contact me through the website, by phone, email, or in person. You do not need to have everything figured out yet.
• Design the Piece
We go over the size, style, materials, and overall direction. If needed, I can also create a 3D mockup.
• Start the Build
Once the details are confirmed, a 50% deposit is taken and the build begins.
• Stay Updated
I can send progress photos and updates along the way, depending on how involved you want to be.
• Final Approval
Once the piece is finished and approved, we arrange pickup, shipping, or delivery.
MEET THE MANAGEMENT
Shop Foreman Tyson
Tyson serves as the unofficial shop foreman at Big B’s Fine Furniture. His responsibilities include supervising the shop, monitoring productivity, greeting visitors, and making sure no project leaves without a final inspection.
He takes his position very seriously, although most of his day is spent sleeping on the job, following me around the shop, and collecting treats whenever possible.
